This week is filled with pre-Fiesta excitement as Fiesta officially kicks off on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Events such as Fiesta Carnival, Fiesta UTSA, Fiesta De Los Reyes at Market Square, Fiesta De Los Ninos are headlining the Fiesta-filled fun this week. You can also check out a free outdoor movie, eat delicious Creole/Cajun food, and attend the Valero Open.

Cars 3 Free Outdoor Movie
What: Free outdoor screening of ‘Cars 3’ at Bulverde’s Community Park.
Why: Turn a boring Monday night into a fun one by catching a free movie with the family and friends.
Where: Bulverde’s Community Park
When: April 16 | 8 p.m.
How Much: Free to watch the movie. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, picnics, and lawn chairs.
Taste Of New Orleans
What: Sunken Garden is hosting the Taste of New Orleans event. The event will include classic Creole and Cajun foods for guests to enjoy. The event will also feature performances from New Orleans musicians.
Why: Nowhere else will think you are in New Orleans at this family-friendly event featuring amazing toe tappin’ music from Dixieland to Smooth Jazz and Zydeco, straight from the Crescent City.

Alamo Heights Night
What: The 32nd annual Alamo Heights Night will host some of San Antonio’s leading restaurant and catering venues. Foods include BBQ, burgers, funnel cakes, tamales, turkey legs, and more. The event will also include live entertainment and fireworks.
Why: This family-friendly atmosphere delivers live entertainment on multiple stages including Hotcakes, Suede (Austin), Finding Friday, a Mariachi Band and others to be added. A live FIREWORKS show will be conducted at 11 pm. The carnival midway will captivate kids of all ages with many activities.

Earth Day Presented by City of San Antonio
What: Come learn how to protect and nourish the earth through live demonstrations, activities, and workshops on going off-grid with solar, water conservation, home energy efficiency, reducing our carbon footprint, improving air quality, supporting bee and butterfly pollination, gardening with Texas friendly plants, and more!
Why: Celebrate Earth Day with San Antonio as we try to Fiesta with earth-friendly activities. This Earth Day event will kick off with a 5K run at Woodlawn Lake. The event will feature live music, dancing, vegetarian food and drink options, T-shirt and tree giveaway’s.

Succeeding Together Kid’s Clinic Presented by Wells Fargo
What: The Succeeding Together Kid’s Clinic presented by Wells Fargo provides an exclusive opportunity for all children in attendance at the Valero Texas Open to hit golf balls at the practice facilities.
Why: Come hit golf balls where the PGA TOUR pros practice, warm up and fine tune their skills. Children can enjoy the free golf clinic hosted by a PGA TOUR pro and other fun activities led by The First Tee of Greater San Antonio. Parents can watch the matches, while the children can practice their swings like the pros!

Fiesta De Los Ninos
What: This is a party for the “pint-sized folks!” Children can enjoy games and rides in a safe, alcohol-free environment. There is also something for all the parents.
Why: Enjoy music and dance performed by some of San Antonio’s finest entertainers, plenty of food booths and don’t miss the Sombrero Loco parade at Noon-a kids’ parade that winds its way through Port San Antonio’s Town Center.

Fiesta At Hemisfair
What: Join the Hemisfair for their official opening of Fiesta 2018. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, greet Fiesta Royalty and other special guests.
Why: Join the fun as cascarónes are broken and the crowd proclaims “Viva Fiesta!” to kick off the Alamo City’s biggest, best festival. This event kicks off 11 days of “craziness with a purpose” as many different non-profit organizations use this opportunity to celebrate, but also raise funds to give back to the community.

19th Hole Fiesta Presented By Kickstart From Mountain Dew
What: After the last putt drops, bar and concession service in The Backyard will continue well into the evening along with backyard games and live music by the popular 80’s cover band, The Spazmatics to keep the party going! The Valero Texas Open’s 19th Hole Fiesta is presented by Kickstart from Mountain Dew.
Why: There is no better way to end an event in San Antonio than having a Fiesta with music, food, drinks, and lots of other fun activities. This event is complimentary to ALL spectators in attendance on Saturday.
Where: The Backyard at TPC San Antonio
When: April 21 | After the last putt drops (5 pm – 9 pm)
How Much: College Students will receive free admission to the tournament after 2 pm with a valid college ID and can attend the complementary event afterwards. Visit the website for more information.
What: The Fiesta Carnival is a popular Fiesta attraction with rides, carnival eats, and more for the whole family to enjoy. The event will be located in the Alamodome’s parking lot.
Why: Thrills and chills fill the air at one of the best carnivals in the land. Glittering lights, exciting rides and a wide assortment of foods in the heart of San Antonio make the Carnival a perennial favorite of Fiesta-goers. Revenue from this event helps support the activities of Fiesta® San Antonio.

What: UTSA is hosting their own Fiesta celebration full of food, music, games, and entertainment. Live music and entertainment will be performed by student organizations.
Why: The UTSA campus comes alive with food, music, games and entertainment. The UTSA student organizations run food and game booths as fundraisers. Enjoy live music and performances by the student organizations. Various costs for food and games.

Fiesta De Los Reyes at Market Square
What: Fiesta De Los Reyes invites guests to enjoy a variety of live music and Fiesta treats. The event will feature the best in Tejano music, Cumbia, Conjunto, and more.
Why: This is one of the largest FREE Fiesta celebrations and has something in store for the entire family! Experience live music along with 30 food booths delivering Fiesta staples including Funnel Cakes, agua fresca, turkey legs, fajitas and much, much more.

Southwest Olympic Fiesta
What: The Southwest Olympic Fiesta is a track and field event for special needs individuals. The event will provide a fun and friendly environment for exceptional students and families to enjoy San Antonio’s Fiesta celebrations.
Why: This event provides an opportunity for exceptional children and their families to enjoy San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration in an accepting environment. Community information booths are located throughout the venue, offering information spotlighting families with children with special needs. There are also many food and carnival booths for our community to enjoy. Proceeds from the booths support participating district clubs and activities.

San Antonio Trivia night at Brews Bros.!
What: SanAntonioTrivia and Brews Brothers are bringing guests a weekly free Live Trivia game.
Why: Attendees and teams can have fun competing for a share of house case and points in the San Antonio Trivia City Championships. Spend your Thursdays testing yoru trivial knowledge with some drinks!
