Cinco de Mayo is this weekend and we have an exciting list of events for you to attend this Saturday. San Antonio does an exceptional job in celebrating this occasion and we are not going to let you miss out!
Feeling down since Fiesta is over? The party can continue with our Cinco de Mayo line-up that will truly light that fire back up! From the annual Race for the Cure, to a free outdoor movie, we hope to find events for the entire family!
Rosefest 2018 | St Rose of Lima Catholic Church | 11 am – 11 pm
St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church is hosting Rosefest, a parish festival and celebration with San Antonio’s tricentennial. The event will include a car show, food, games, and entertainment for the whole family. This year the event is giving away a 2018 Toyota 4Runner as one of the top prizes.
There is FREE admission and FREE parking!
Cinco de Derby at The Rustic | The Rustic | 12 pm – 10 pm
Start the day with a Cinco de Mayo Brunch on The Rustic’s new Gentlemen’s Margarita while you jam out to free live music performed by an authentic mariachi band.
Guests can enjoy face paintings, dancing, a photo booth, or take a one-of-a-kind photo with Poncho the Miniature Donkey. Once brunch ends, The Rustic invites Kentucky Derby fans, as well as connoisseurs of high fashion, great food and Mint Juleps, to join in the race-day fun.
Cocktail Scavenger Hunt: Cinco de Mayo | SA Botanical Gardens | 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
The San Antonio Botanical Garden celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a self-guided photo hunt in which participants search for ingredients growing in the garden, photograph them and present them to a bartender in exchange for a cocktail.
This cheap event is for individuals 21 and older. Tickets can be purchased online for $20 ($18 members)
2018 Race for the Cure Sponsored by H-E-B | 85 NE Loop 410 | 7 am
The Race for the Cure raises funds to support locals in need of breast cancer services, right here in the San Antonio area. H-E-B serves as Local Title Sponsor for the 16th year in a row.
If you haven’t done so already, register online as an individual, team, or a corporation! The fees for the event are $20. Go online to view how your donations are helping to save lives and cure breast cancer.
Free Outdoor Movie: Coco | Mission Marquee Plaza | 8 pm
Slab Cinema pops up at Mission Marquee Plaza for a screening of Pixar’s Oscar-winner. The movie follows an aspiring young musician who journeys to the Land of the Dead to find the truth behind his family’s musical history.
Outdoor movies on the restored screen of the former Mission Drive-in are sponsored by the City of San Antonio World Heritage Office. Bring picnics, lawn chairs and blankets. Pet-friendly, starts at dusk.
Mini-Mini Con 2018 | Wonderland of the Americas | 11:30 am – 7:30 pm
Mini-Mini Con is a free convention hosted by San Japan and Nine-Tails at Wonderland of the Americas Mall. Mini-Mini Con will have a variety of artists and dealers, karaoke, cosplay, guests, fan panels, gaming of all kind, fashion, and music events going on. The event is a family friendly event which welcomes all ages.

San Pedro Creek Culture Park Grand Opening | San Pedro Creek Culture Park | 12 pm – 9 pm
Stroll the banks of the San Pedro Creek Culture Park and experience culture, art and nature during the grand opening of the first segment in the heart of downtown San Antonio.
The grand opening event is free and open to the public, featuring family-friendly fun, food trucks, live music, children’s activities and historical presentations – and an evening illumination ceremony beginning at 7:30 p.m., presented by Bexar County.
Seersucker Distillery Grand Opening With Cinco De Derby Party | 8501 Cover Rd | 12 pm – 9 pm
The makers of San Antonio’s own Seersucker Southern Style Gin are celebrating the grand opening of Seersucker Distillery with a Cinco de Mayo party and viewing of the Kentucky Derby.
The public is invited to the recently remodeled 5,000 square-foot distillery to watch the race on an outdoor video wall. Guests will enjoy cocktails, onsite food trucks, classic lawn games, free tours, and a Seersucker derby attire contest with cash prizes.
Pan African Cultural Festival | Carver Branch Library | 11 am – 5 pm
The 3rd Annual Pan-African Cultural Festival is a free community celebration to promote unity and culture in the African World Community. Come enjoy engaging conversation, and meet brothers and sisters from the Caribbean, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana and Mexico.
With the success of the blockbuster film “Black Panther,” this year’s festival will have a Wakanda theme.
Cinco de Mayo at the Pearl | The Historic Pearl | 4 pm – 7 pm
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Pearl! Enjoy live music by El Tallercito de Son from 4-7 p.m. while taking advantage of the Bottling Department’s specials for the holiday.
